Amalfi Coast

 Driving the Amalfi Coast was quite the experience.  Now we need to go back and experience it on a boat.  Hopefully that will happen.

 It was full of Lemon trees.  This shows how they are planted on the sides of the mountains.  Very cool.

 Tight fit for driving in most places.

 Honestly didn't think we were going to make this one...  At one point we did see a tour bus get stuck.  Took a while but he made it.

Beautiful views.

 We drove down throught the town of Positano.  It was a tight fit all the way down.  Narrow skinny one way roads and people just out walking around or dining on the sidewalks.

Paestum

Paestum has some of the most well preserved Greek temples in the world.  It's south of Naples on the west side of Italy.

 Love these cute kids of mine.

 Emma loved these temples.  She knew all the Greek Gods and Goddess'.  Poseidon, Minerva, Juno.

 These temples were built anywhere from 400 to 600 BC.

These are some of the frescos that were found in a tomb.  The one on the right was names "Tomb of the Diver"

Castle at Monte Sant'Angelo

 The first time we went to the castle it was closed I think so we went back.  Monte Sant'Angelo Castle click on that link and it will take you to Wikipedia.

Gargano Coast

 So one day we drove the Gargano Coast line starting at Manfredonia all the way up to Peschici.

 Our beast of a van.. we no longer have this one but it had an excellent turning radius.

The town in the distance was Vieste.

Just a little resort down on the water.

 They had these things every so often I assume for fishing.  They looked very old and I am not sure I would even set foot on one.

                                        Here we are in Peschici.

 Again Peschici.  It's just amazing to me how they built these towns.

Monte Sant'Angelo

Just a short drive from Manfredonia is a town called Monte Sant'Angelo up on the mountain.

The castle

 Yes this is real. People really live here.

On our way back down the mountain we came upon this.  Goats crossing.  The dog was herding them and made sure we stopped so they could all cross before we could drive again.  The kids loved this.  It was actually very cool.
