Neighborhood Association

Shortly before Christmas Jordan and I were asked if either one of us would like to be on the board for our Neighborhood Association. Of course right of the bat Jordy says(with a smirk on his face).. "oh Megan would love to.. I would, but I am busy with work and school"
So I am now the Vice President of our Neighborhood Association! It's not really all that glamorous we meet once month down at the Italian place in town and have drinks (diet pepsi's all around)!
Basically so far I am now in charge of the quarterly newsletter and I get to pick the date for the annual garage sale! I know all of you are envious! I am just happy to have something to get me out of the house once a month by myself!

Happy New Year

I know I am lacking a little on the post on here! I am working on it. My problem is we didn't take very many pictures this Christmas not sure why we didn't. I am going to try and round some up from other people! We did have a good Christmas though! We spent Christmas Eve with all of my family at my parents house with a ham dinner and a little nativity skit! Then we stayed the night and woke up to what santa brought the girls (a new kitchen set) Then we spent the rest of Christmas Day up at Jordan's parents house hanging out with his family.
For New Years Eve we had what is becoming a tradition in our home a Fondue party! We had family and friends over to play games and eat fondue. This year there was a cheese and chocolate fondue! Then the next day we woke up to the New Years baby leaving little prizes in our shoes!
We hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years!

Flooding in the NW

I have been looking at pictures online of all the damage and flooding and in almost every other picture you could see the salmon in the parking lots swimming up the flooded road... poor salmon but kind of funny in a way!

Here is a picture of the Old Navy we normally shop at in Olympia. Can you see the top of the white car! pretty deep water.
Also they shut down I-5 yesterday. They were letting cars drive thru the water on the road until one got washed out! So far they are not totally sure on when they will reopen it. Right now if I wanted to drive down to my mom's in Vancouver I would have to head over to Yakima in the middle of the state and then down.
As for us we are fine! No threat of water getting to us. And we still have power! Jordan went to work as normal. It's just certain areas near the rivers that really got flooded! From what I was reading this is the worst flooding ever recorded! And the 2nd wettest day ever recorded (I think they based that on how much rain fell) Something like over 3 inches of rain yesterday.

This is what it looked like outside this morning! This is my view from my back yard! Pretty isn't it!

Mozzarella Chicken & Rice Skillet

We love this quick and easy recipe! I can start and finish it in 15 minutes! The kids love it too!

1 Tbsp. oil
4 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1 lb.) (if your really in a hurry I use canned chicken from costco)
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) cream of chicken soup
1 soup can milk or water
2 cups fresh or thawed frozen broccoli florets (I use peas, but you can use any vegi you like here)
1-1/2 cups instant white rice, uncooked
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

HEAT Oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook 5 min. on each side or until cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet; cover to keep warm. (when I use canned chicken I omit this step and just add the chicken when I add the vegi)
ADD soup and milk to skillet; mix well. Bring to a boil. Stir in broccoli and rice; top with chicken. Cover. Reduce heat to low.
COOK 5 min.; sprinkle with cheese. Remove from heat. Let stand, covered, 5 min. or until cheese is melted.

It's already starting!!

She loves the shoes! Dottie loves to wear these dress up shoes if she sees them laying around she has to have them on. Well she loves to put on my shoes or Emma's cowgirl boots but these are the ones she loves! It cracks me up every time I see her put them on. This occasion made me just laugh out loud.. look at those legs! I love them! She just walks around the house like no big deal, like it's normal for a 19 month old to wear heels!

Halloween 2007

It finally came and went! Emma had school in the morning so I got her dressed up for school and they did a little trick or treating there. Then we met up with our friends to do a trunk or treat! Emma and her friend Lia had a great time. I even think they enjoyed passing out candy as much as getting candy for themselves. We finally got Dottie to wear her chicken costume. I think she was the funniest to watch the whole night. She would say "trick or treat" which sounded more like peek a boo! then instead of letting people put the candy into her bag she would grab it from them and put it in her bag by herself and then say "thank you". If they didn't get to her first she would just help herself in the bowl of candy while they weren't paying attention to her because they were filling other kids bags! But she would only just take one so we just let her do it. At one point Emma tripped and fell and her candy fell out of her bag so she started crying. Jordan was helping her pick it all up and trying to console her. A little boy dressed at spiderman came over to help her as well. Emma said to him in her crying voice "thanks spiderman." After the trunk or treat we went to some neighborhoods just a few houses. We could hardly keep up with Dottie as she ran from house to house. She didn't really get the concept that we were only going to houses with the lights on. We had a blast. Here are some pics of course!

Here they are ready to go~!

Passing out candy!

Dot's finally getting to eat a piece of her candy!!!
